Corvus lets you explore form freely at the beginning of a project, then carry that same geometry forward as the work becomes more resolved. What begins as an abstract volume can become a wall, slab, roof, assembly, or other precisely defined architectural element without rebuilding the work you have already done.

Turn a line into a building.

Start with the simplest geometry the idea requires. Extrude a profile. Sweep a path. Revolve a section. Loft between forms. Push, pull, stretch, and reshape geometry directly as the design develops. Work can begin with a few lines or surfaces and grow naturally into sophisticated three-dimensional form without changing tools, changing modes of thought, or recreating geometry along the way.

Direct when you want it. Parametric when you need it.

Some changes should be immediate. Others need relationships, constraints, and history that can be revisited later. Corvus supports direct editing and history-based parametric modeling together, so you do not have to choose between intuition and control. Push a face into place when that is all the design requires, or define the relationships that should persist as the project evolves.

Use the geometry the form demands.

Buildings are not made from one kind of geometry, and the modeler should not force them to be. Work with precise solids, fluid NURBS surfaces, and subdivision geometry within the same modeling environment. Move from simple volumes to exact alignments, compound curves, and highly resolved forms while keeping each part of the model represented by the kind of geometry best suited to it.

Subtract as deliberately as you add.

Voids are first-class geometry in Corvus. Define and control openings, recesses, cuts, shafts, courtyards, and other negative spaces as directly as the solids around them. Because subtraction is often as fundamental to architectural form as addition, voids remain editable and intentional rather than becoming a trail of fragile workarounds buried inside the model.

Objects know what they are.

A wall is more than a solid. A door is more than a collection of surfaces. Corvus lets architectural objects carry the relationships and behaviors of the things they represent. A door can belong to a wall, respond to its opening, resize while preserving its proportions, and remain part of the same family as related doors throughout the project. Walls, windows, slabs, roofs, stairs, and assemblies can behave with the same underlying intelligence.

Make one object. Adapt it everywhere.

Constraints and parameters let an object change without losing the logic that makes it itself. A door can widen for one opening, narrow for another, and retain the proportions, relationships, and design rules established by its family. The same principle extends across reusable architectural components, so variation does not require duplication and every adjustment does not create another disconnected one-off object.

Stay oriented inside complex models.

Complex geometry should never mean losing control of the model. Snap precisely to vertices, edges, faces, centers, and other geometric relationships. Establish working planes and guides, isolate the elements you need, and cut sections through the project. Move between wireframe, hidden-line, shaded, and other visual modes as the task demands, simplifying what you see without simplifying what you have built.

Measure the model, not an approximation of it.

Geometry carries measurable information. Calculate surface area, volume, mass, and center of mass directly from the model as the design changes. Precise constraints for angles, distances, radii, tangencies, alignments, symmetry, and other relationships let you define exactly what must remain true while everything around it continues to evolve.

See how the building will behave.

Assign materials and attributes to geometry and control how objects appear in plan, elevation, section, and rendered views. Study sun and shadow as the design develops, then carry the same model into specialized rendering environments when greater visual fidelity is needed. Visualization remains connected to the geometry rather than becoming a separate reconstruction of the project.
